The word “monastery” conjures up images of 6th century men with silly haircuts wearing long robes who live quiet lives removed from society. But at its heart, a monastery is a sacred container for all the activities that give life meaning: community, contemplative solitude, homemade meals, gardening, creativity, leisure and ample rest.
How might monastic life inspire our own way of life? How do our daily routines breathe meaning into the mundane? How does our home mirror our personality and longings? Grappling with these questions is the heartfelt work of The Monastic Home.
Whether its enjoying homemade treats at the brick and mortar bake shop or lighting a candle from afar while reading the weekly newsletter—welcome.
The Candles
The Monastic Home began with hand-poured candles inspired by memories of my grandparents' home—I hope they bring warmth to yours.
The Bake Shop
Preparing and sharing food is the strongest love language of my ancestors, and my family and I are grateful to carry that torch through the bake shop. My mom and my dear gal pals Hilary (Kabylia Baguette) and Katie (Jamtooth Baking Co.) lovingly prepare the baked goods each week.
The shop is open Saturdays at 9AM until we run out of items (around 1PM), and the menu changes weekly. You're welcome to pre-order by emailing desired items/quantities by 9PM on Thursdays.

The Cloister
Monasteries are known for their cloisters—a space set apart designed to turn down the volume of the exterior world so that the whispers of our heart come through with greater clarity, surrounded by the comfort of like-minded souls.
To that end, I've created a weekly letter that will arrive to your inbox every Saturday to serve as a virtual cloister. I hope it cultivates a sense of connection and invites helpful moment of quiet contemplation.
